The Department of Chemistry sponsors an active summer research program each year. Typically, students participate in summer research in Chemistry and Biochemistry each year, and are a part of a larger community of as many as students on campus during the summer who are conducting original research in the arts and sciences.
Each FSEM student in the fall of took on a research project that explored a specific strategy to reduce Colgate's carbon footprint.
Research projects included lighting upgrades, cropped biomass, alternative transportation, water efficiency and conservation, and waste reduction and recycling.
