How is this workshop different from your Seven Principles Program Workshop? Gottman's research to enhance a relationship. Self-disclosure is not required in either workshop.
John and Julie Gottman. These workshops are offered independent of The Gottman Institute. I've registered and submitted payment for the workshop. Typically you will be contacted via email within 24 hours of registration. Within that email, you will be requested to schedule a minute phone call to be completed within 48 hours of registration.
What is your Refund Policy? Events will sell out! Who attends the couples workshops? Couples of all ages, incomes, races, nationalities, professions, religions, abilities, and orientations attend our workshops.
Couples attend who already have a strong, healthy relationship, and couples attend to repair relationship damage and get back on track. We welcome all couples who want to work on making their relationship stronger. Do all couples qualify to attend? This process is to ensure that the Art and Science of Love workshop will truly benefit each couple.
Can we attend the workshop even if we aren't married? All couples are welcome. This may in fact be the best time to work on and build upon your relationship! Is this workshop appropriate for premarital couples?
We strongly encourage attending our workshop as premarital preparation. Do you offer financial assistance? Can I give the couples workshop as a gift to someone else? Gift certificates are here.
Our workshops are specifically designed to be interactive and experiential for couples only. How can I convince my partner to attend a workshop or go to counseling? Each couple is different and we are unable to provide specific advice about how to convince your partner to attend a workshop or seek counseling.
Couples sit as an audience during the lectures, but we provide lots of extra square footage for privacy while couples engage in the workshop exercises. In smaller groups 7 couples or fewerDr. Adam Smithey will be available to briefly work one-on-one with couples who desire support and assistance during exercises.
There is no group work, and no mandatory sharing. Will we be left on our own or will we receive assistance? In larger groups, we will call upon other Certified Gottman Therapists to assist during the exercises. Couples are not required to use clinical help, but we strongly encourage using this resource while you have the opportunity.
How many couples attend the workshop? The venue, location, weather, time of year and several other factors affect the size of each workshop. The large group workshops offered periodically can see anywhere from couples attend.
Couples who attend our workshop tend to fall into two categories: We applaud couples who are wise enough to attend the workshop for enhancement purposes.
